GeoQuesting For Warmer Weather
Geocentric Adventure Racing / 22.02.2005

While organisers hope for warmer weather, competitors will still need to be prepared for anything. Operations Manager Louise Foulkes said "It is going to be tough for them. It is still winter, it will still be cold, and winter storms could be a reality". Teams are required to undergo competency checks before they are allowed to start and they must carry extensive mandatory safety equipment. .
Up to 65 teams including four competitors and two support crew will travel to the NSW North Coast from all around Australia. Their 200+km journey, only revealed to them 24 hours before starting, will take them on a course involving stages of trekking, mountain biking, kayaking and special disciplines. They race day and night non stop. Team members must stay together for the entire adventure, if one pulls out then their team will not receive an official finish.
The event runs from the 10-13 June 2005 and the organizers are extremely greatful for the support from their sponsors Mountain Designs, Land Rover and Hammer Gel.
