Landrover G4 Challenge

Not just a driving event The G4 Challenge will test competitors skill, stamina and mental ability and could have them canyoning, kayaking, mountain biking, coasteering, bunjee jumping, abseiling, and of course off road driving in some great vehicles

The events official launch in Australia from what we hear will be the Melbourne Motor Show, but the Detroit Motor Show in the USA has already had a glimpse of atleast 1 of the vehicles to be used, namely the Range Rover Sport, if the competitors and anyone else who got to drive the Range Rovers last time around were impressed by the vehicles capabilities then the Range Rover Sport will sure deliver the goods this time around.

The event will start on the 23rd of April 2006 with an urban challenge in Bangkok Thailand before heading into the mountainous hardwood forests of Laos, once completing the stages in S.E.Asia the G4 Challenge will head for South America arriving on the beaches of Rio. The climax of the event comes on May 20th 2006 on the high plains of Bolivia

The recce team has already covered in excess of 10000km of remote terrain across S.E.Asia from Thailand to the Vietnamese border taking in Laos and Cambodia, but it seems Landrover may have focused the action of the early stages on the wilderness areas of Laos which takes you from Northern Thailand to the borders of Cambodia and Vietnam.
