Do you Dare Challenge Merrell King Winter 2014
Lars Bukkehave / 21.10.2013

January 12th 2013 had 70 teams of 2 or 3 persons from Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia and the Czech Republic were ready to start their adventure race season in Farum just north of Copenhagen, Denmark. With temperatures just below freezing, no winds and a little snowfall, the conditions were perfect!
January 11th 2014 the race is back, with a master distance (est. winning time 14 hours) and a challenge distance (est. winning time 6 hours). The race has moved slightly north, to the area around Esrum Lake, with the 4th biggest forest in Denmark as a playground!
The main focus of the race is unchanged: to show the racers as many of the beautiful areas north of Copenhagen as possible, from their mountain bikes, on foot, in kayaks and from the treetops! More so, the race will challenge the participants on mind and body, both novice and elite. Last year, Swedish team Sweco drew the longest straw, after a long, hard fight with Danish AdventureTeam.dk, winning the race and pulling away to a 20 minute win over the last orienteering stage, in just over 14 hours, through forests, in kayaks, to the bottom of huge gravel pits and in the treetops.
The goal for 2014 is to build on the experiences from the last 3 years editions, combined with the race organizers own race experiences to create a race, challenging and scenic for people of all levels within the sport.
Snow, cold and darkness - do you dare challenge Merrell King Winter 2014?
