Fell running legends take on clif bar 10 peaks
Press Release / 06.06.2014

We are delighted to announce that two of the greatest all time fell runners will be competing in the Clif Bar 10 Peaks Xtreme on 28th June.
Nicky Spinks is arguably the best female fell runner ever. Nicky’s accolades include records for the Bob Graham Round, the Paddy Buckley Round, the Charlie Ramsay Round as well as the Lakes 24 hour record when she completed 64 peaks in 23.15.
Yiannis Tridimas will also be taking part. Yiannis also holds a string of records and is the only man to have run 60 Lakeland peaks in under 24 hours at the age of 60! Now at 69 he is going to take on the toughest 100km race in the UK.
10 Peaks is now in its fifth year and has previously consisted of a 73km course taking in the 10 highest Lakeland peaks and a ‘short’ course of 48km both with 24 hours cutoffs. New for 2014 is the Xtreme course with a 30 hour cutoff.
Race director, Paul Smith, said “I wanted to create an even tougher challenge for those wishing to take things to the next level. I looked at ways of extending the Long course and ended with a 100km circular route with around 7600m of ascent. The stats speak for themselves but combined with the tough terrain, we believe that the Xtreme course stands as one of the hardest 100km races in the world.”
