The FLX Virtual Adventure Race (2015)

Here’s an interesting race promotion and while it may be organised online you still need to get out and visit the checkpoints.

It’s organised by Florida Xtreme Adventures (FLX) who stage the Sea to Sea AR in March. These are the details and the webpage to visit is http://flxadventures.com/races/2015-2/the-virtual-adventure-race-2015/

“FLX Adventures is proud to announce the 2015 Virtual Adventure Race! Here is how it works…

There will be 12 checkpoints in 4 distinct areas of Central Florida. One checkpoint is accessible by bike, one by foot, and one by boat. Teams of 2 must visit each of these checkpoints and take a picture of each team mate at the distinct item at the checkpoint (in the CP description).

Teams then upload the pictures to Facebook and tag Florida Xtreme Adventures in the photo to get credit for the CP and include the hash tag #VirtualAdventureRace in the comments.  A leaderboard will be kept at this web site.

Race starts January 1, 2015 – Finishes June 30, 2015.

Return to this page on January 1st to see the location and description of all the checkpoints.

There are free race entries as prizes and all teams completing the 12 checkpoints before June 30 will receive a specially designed race T-Shirt.”
