Questars Ready for 2005
Rob Howard / 28.03.2005

All four races for 2005 one-day events being held on Saturdays, with a great variety of locations and terrain, and the choice of racing for a Trio course … or a Duo course. The Duo is the a score mountain biking and trail running event, and those entering the Trio go on to compete in an additional canoeing stage. Keeping up the theme of offering maximum choice there are masters and novice classes, with categories for ladies, men, mixed teams and veterans … of between 1 and 4 people. There’s no excuse for not having a go!
You don’t even have to get up early! This year registration will open at 9.00am, with the Masters race (6 hours for the Duo) beginning at 10.00am and the Novice race (5 hours) at 11.00am. To make planning even easier when you do arrive, Questars will also be providing laminated maps with the checkpoints pre-marked for all classes, so competitors study the map over a cup of coffee before setting off.
The prizes this year for each race will be a choice from a selection of useful kit, and for those interested in competing for the Series Prize, the winners of the Trio Series will receive £200, runners up will receive £100 and those in 3rd place will receive £50. The winners of the Duo Series will receive £100.
Entries for the first race are filling quickly and the closing date is Friday 15th April, so if you do want to race in the Brecon Beacons don’t leave it too late.
The race dates and locations for this year are;
23 April - Brecon Beacons
9 July - Sherwood Forest
13 August - New Forest
8 October - Berkshire
