Dingle Adventure Race Attracts 1000 Competitors

1000 hardy athletes braved the unseasonably baltic conditions of Kerry to compete in The Annual Dingle Adventure Race,now in it's 5th year. It is a one day Multi Activity Adventure Race consisting 3 Courses DAR Full, DAR Sport & DAR Mini, Biking over the spectacular Conor Pass, Climbing Mount Brandon, running the coastal windy roads of Slea head, Dunquin, Mount Eagle, and along the iconic Dingle Peninsula. 

The race, established by Noel O’Leary of Irish Adventures, was delighted with the event, he said after the success event; "The Race challenges competitors to run, kayak,which had to be cancelled due to adverse high winds, hike and cycle their way across the Dingle Peninsula. The atmosphere is always fantastic, and despite the adverse cold temperatures, the views showcase Dingle Peninsula, and competitors were literally blown away by the natural beauty! We are grateful to all the volunteers and generous sponsorship of local Kerry business's in making the Dingle Adventure Race a great success and the best Adventure Race in the Country". 

The Full Dingle Adventure Race was won by Dessie Duffy, Cavan Kayakarun, in a time of 2 hrs, 43:15 seconds. The Mini Adventure Race was won by Derek Nolan, Limerick in a time of 1hr, 02:31 seconds, and Sport event was won by Kieran Cosgrove, in a time of 1hr 46:43 seconds. The Ladies Full Adventure Race was won by Lorraine Horan, Limerick in a time of 3 hrs and 40 seconds.
