Huge Entry For World Champs
Rob Howard / 03.04.2005

An additional 78 teams registered their interest in February alone and all the first and second placed teams from the AR World Series qualifying races have entered. Teams have entered from the USA, Canada, NZ, Australia, France, Poland, Czech, South Africa, Sweden, Finland, Brazil, Holland, Chile, Spain,
UK, Guatamala, Croatia, and Japan. Depending on which teams get selected the race could be the most multi-national AR event ever held.
The field for the World Championships, which starts on November 11th on the West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island, will be restricted to 60 teams maximum and the organizers are now carefully processing the registrations. Teams will be informed by 15th April if they have been accepted and the remaining teams will be short listed to take the place of any teams that have to withdraw.
Places will also be held for the first and second placed teams from the remaining qualifying races: Appalachian Extreme (USA), The Wilderness ARC (Scotland) and Terra Incognita (Croatia).
Course Director Geoff Hunt has just completed a recce trip for the route and will make further announcements on which teams will be on the start line very soon.
