Alpkit Foundation to Help Get Kids Out Into Open Spaces

­ALPKIT are delighted to announce the launch of our charity, the Alpkit Foundation.  We’ll donate 1% of our sales to the Foundation as well as the proceeds from our events like the Big Shakeout.

This is an independent charity, registered with the Charities Commission, to directly help more people to get outdoors - to overcome obstacles that prevent them from Going Nice Places and Doing Good Things.

Every month we’ll support projects like:

- school kids to go experience our National Parks and Wild Places where they can ride, walk, swim, paddle or just enjoy nature

- support conservation projects from conserving river banks to rewilding our open spaces

- fund mountain leader, first aid, outdoor skills training so that more people can get involved with more expeditions

We aim to help 300 projects a year which could be as many as 100,000 school kids getting into our open spaces as a direct result of our support.

We’re also delighted to welcome Adge Last as our first independent trustee alongside our staff trustees.  The closing date for applications to be our customer trustee closes on 6 September 2015.
