Bike Racing in Crimea

Between October 2-4 a new and unique unique bike adventure race will take place in Crimea - the Tavrida Bike Race!

The race is organized by an experienced team of athletes and race organizers from Moscow (Tarantas bike club from Tarasovka) and Saint-Petersburg (VeloPiter club). They've organised such races as Bike-off-Road Challenge, Fox Trail and Bike Adventure that attract more than 800 people each every year and are preparing new adventures that will unfold near numerous notable and historic places with the spirit of ancient Tavrida (the Russian name for old Crimea).

Special tasks like bike legends, navigation quests, satellite image tests and puzzles have already become a tradition of their races and they promise Gluhwein for everyone who crosses the finish line as well as prizes from our sponsors and a friendly atmosphere.

The base camp will be located in a magnificent place at the Mangup-Kale camp ground where it's possible to combine participation in this race with a family vacation at the sea shore. There are various classes available and also a rogaining competition for those who prefer to run. 

The organising team promise that Crimea is not only wine cellars and hot sun, but also beautiful mountains with hard uphill cycling and fast technical riding downhill so the new race will be a real bike adventure.

Location: Crimea, Bakhchisaray region, Mangup-Kale camp ground.

When: October 2-4, 2015

Courses: Bike adventure race 8, 24 and 48 hours. Rogaining (running) 24 hours.

Registration is open: till September 30 and the entry fee is 700 to 1600 rubles. (Thats approx £7 to £15, or 9 to 20 Euro so its great value if you can get there!)
