Adventure Medical Kits Sponsors Adventure Race Team

Adventure Medical Kits, which makes first aid, survival gear, and bug repellent, has sponsored an adventure racing team made up of six athletes focused on multi-day, multi-sport expedition races that take place around the world.  

Team Adventure Medical Kits is led by Kyle Peter who has captained teams to first place finishes in the last three United States Adventure Racing Association’s National Championships (USARA) and to third and fourth place finishes in the World Championships. The team’s consistent success over the years has earned them the respect of the global adventure racing community. The team has an intense training and competition schedule and is preparing for their next race in Belize in February 2016.

“Kyle provides us with critical feedback on existing products as well as new products that are being developed. We know that if the products can stand up to the extreme conditions that Kyle races in then they pass the test.” said Frank Meyer, Chief Marketing Officer at Tender Corporation.

Team Adventure Medical Kits is an accomplished squad of six adventure racers including Kyle Peter, Garret Bean, Mari Chandler, Rob Preston, Jarad Kohlar, and Aaron Johnson.

The team includes:

• Kyle Peter, Team Captain and medic. Since 2003, Kyle has raced in over 140 adventure races and is considered the most experienced and successful adventure racer in the United States today.
• Garret Bean has been a racing partner with Kyle for the past 5 years. Garret discovered his knack for endurance sports late in life, but his years of being an adventurous child growing up in the San Gabriel Mountains prepared him well.  He keeps his teammates perpetually in hysterics as he leads the charge out on the race course.  
• Mari Chandler—After a successful college track career and an Olympic development pursuit, Mari fell in love with the world of multisport after a broken ankle kept her from the track. Over the past 5 years, Mari has placed in the top 5 in the majority of the national and international adventure racing competitions.
• Rob Preston—Based out of Victoria, Australia, Rob is Team Adventure Medical Kits’ lead navigator. Racing internationally for over 10 years, Rob is well versed in the challenges of adventure racing.
• Jarad Kohlar—Lives in Melbourne, Australia.  Jarad is a staple in Australian adventure sports.  With an impressive resume of race wins across numerous adventure pursuit disciplines, Jarad personifies what adventure sport is all about – tough, eclectic, fun-loving, and a little bit wild.  He is also a qualified outdoor educator and coaches athletes through his company Peak Adventure.
• Aaron Johnson--Talented on and off the mountain bike, Aaron showcases his skills in long distance biking and behind the camera. Aaron has his eye set on supporting the team and competing in a few races in 2016.
