New Team Line-Up Announced for Team Tecnu

Doug Judson is the founder and manager of Tecnu adventure racing,  and has been busy this off-season revamping team Tecnu and bringing on some new World class team members. After steadily moving up the world rankings to 3rd and finishing 3rd at Worlds in Costa Rica 3 years ago, the team finished in 8th place at last year's tough World Championships in Brazil. Some changes were made, and a new squad was formed and Tecnu are thrilled to make the formal announcement to the world on who will be racing for the top North American brand the past 9 years, and the 3-time defending National Champions. 

We are pleased to welcome the 2010 adventure racing World Champion Benjamin Midena to the team. He won the World Championships as a member of Team Buff beating out the famed team Nike in a close battle. Mike Kloser, Captain of team Nike, " I have the upmost respect for Benjamin Midena. His integrity, and his abilities as an athlete. Although we're still bummed we didn't beat them at the World Championships because we're so competitive."

Also joining the team are two of the best Canadian adventure racers, the power couple Greg and Denise McHale from Yukon, Canada. Previously racing with the famous SupplierPipeline and then racing with Merrell, both have won lots of races around the globe including beating team Nike at several races with Benjamin, and finishing third at the PrimalQuest in its heyday.

Also joining the team is Jon Brown. Jon comes from the very heralded  old school team of Crested Butte. After taking a few years off to start a brewery in Gunnison, Colorado, Jon is looking to get back into the adventure racing scene, and is thrilled to join the top brand from North America.. Jon narrowly missed winning the PrimalQuest against team Nike finishing 2nd, and has been a staple around the adventure racing circuit the past 10 years racing all over the world testing the boundaries of human endurance Jon is an ultra runner, raced over 60 races as a professional mountain biker, a member of the United States mountaineering ski team,  and a very well rounded athlete.

A welcome addition to the top Tecnu brand. Rounding out our squad is Brian Mayer from the United States. Brian has raced at a very high level the past 7 years in the U.S including a win at the National Championships in 2011, as well as the NAARS Championships. Brian is also the long course orienteering National Champion, and the proud father of a beautiful one year old girl. Brian brings a wealth of experience and is a welcome addition to our team.  

We want to take this time to thank Tecnu for what might be the longest sponsorship in our sports history after perhaps Seagate. As we all know sponsors are incredibly hard to find and keep, and Tecnus amazing dedication to our sport is unparalleled,  and their support of people who do crazy adventures out in the woods has been amazing. From all of us at team Tecnu, we want to thank them for their continued dedication of our journeys as we push the boundaries of human endurance.

We are excited to watch this team race this year, and improve on our past performances, and we have great hopes heading towards the World Championships in Australia in November. Adventure on!
