More Places Available for ARWC 2017

The Adventure Enablers, directors of the Adventure Racing World Championships being held in Wyoming on August  10-16, 2017, are happy to announce that an additional 11 spots have opened up for the 2017 Cameco Cowboy Tough and the 2016 AR World Series Championship.  

These spots give us the opportunity to bring in some of the highest ranked teams in Adventure Racing and ones with international presence that did not secure an initial wildcard spot. These teams will not only push the limits of other participants but add the international component the event calls for.  

Teams within the top-fifteen ARWS world ranking that are currently on the waiting list have been invited to join the other 26 teams who are currently fully registered for the event. Those teams include Swedish Armed Forces Adventure Team, Naturex, Merrell Adventure Addicts, Haglofs Silva, R’ADYS Switzerland, and YogaSlackers. In addition to the 21 spots available through ARWS qualifying races, two additional spots are being made available for both US and European teams to qualify through early season events as follows:

The 4-person coed winners of the Shenandoah Epic 24-hour adventure race being held in Virginia on April 22-23 will earn a spot and 25% off entry fees to the Cameco Cowboy Tough. If the winning team already has a spot, the opening will roll down to the next placed team. Only one spot will be given to the highest placing team. (If the winning team already has a spot, the 25% discount will be retroactively applied.) Racing the Epic is great prep for ARWC--a chance to see how we run our races and get some training in! Winners of the 2017 Euro Championships being held in Russia on June 9-13 at the Redfox Adventure Race will secure a paid spot in the 2017 Cameco Cowboy Tough. The reward may be used only to cover the 2017 ARWC entry fee and will be paid from ARES directly to the race organizer.
