Saalfelden Leogang To Host Additional BIKE Festival

The upcoming mountain bike season will feature a brand new highlight. Besides the well-established BIKE Festivals in Riva del Garda and Willingen, the iconic MTB destination of Saalfelden Leogang will also host a BIKE Festival next year.

From August 31 till September 2, 2018, mountain biking will take centre stage in Austria for a full weekend.

“We are more than happy that we were able to convert this region to organising an additional festival. Saalfelden Leogang has been dedicating itself to the sport of mountain biking for many years now, and has been organising major events many times already. Having such an experienced partner aboard is good for everyone: exhibitors, festival visitors and athletes,” says Project Manager Johannes Niemann.

Just like the other two festivals, the BIKE Festival Saalfelden Leogang will provide a huge expo areal where more than 100 exhibitors are expected to provide a first glimpse on what to expect from the next season.

On top of that, the integration of the Salzburg holiday destination to the BIKE Festival family which therefor will feature outdoor fairs in three different countries enables Organisers to even upgrade the worth on the sport's side as well.

All three Rocky Mountain BIKE Marathons will count for a combined marathon ranking with the top placed riders being awarded at the end of the season.

“The establishment of an own series demonstrates, that the sport programme plays a significant role; especially as it's not the only series,” explains Niemann.

The event weekend in Saalfelden Leogang will also feature a stop of the brand new Scott Enduro Series.

Race registration is already possible

Those who are already committed to add the marathon series or single races of it, no matter if in Riva, Willingen or Saalfelden Leogang, to their 2018 bucket list can do so online already. In addition, registration for the Scott Junior Trophy races is also possible.
