The Expedition Challenge; A New Event From The Founders of Primal Quest
News Release / 08.06.2005

The first of its kind, an “Expedition Length†Stage Race will take place over 10 days with five stages 10-16 hours in length, one individual time trial, one Environmental Project, all capped off with a 36-48 hour non stop stage. Only 36 Co-ed Teams of 4 will be accepted into the event.
“I received an overwhelming amount of support from all of the Directors that I have worked with in the past on Primal Quest as well as other events. They each have decided to invest their time towards this new sports property. It was the highest compliment Maria and I could ever have received†said Dan Barger Race Director for the Expedition Challenge.
This new format has been developed from several key groups, Media (allowing media unprecedented access to athletes in between stages) TV (covering 24/7 non-stop action both on and off the race course of the athletes) and most importantly the racers themselves (offering a faster paced event, with an opportunity to rest, refuel and strategize).
This non supported format will also enhance the team aspect of the event without the mandatory cost of a support crew. Maria Burton, Executive Producer of the 2003 and 2004 Primal Quest CBS Sports Spectacular will head up the domestic and international TV package. All indicators point to another phenomenal show.
