Team DSV Cyanosis: A Force in Adventure Racing

DSV has signed up as main sponsor of Team Cyanosis Adventure Racing, a four-man team mainly based in Stellenbosch, South Africa for the 2019/2020 racing calendar. Team Cyanosis has been racing for the past 17 years and is currently South Africa’s top Adventuring Racing team and ranked 14th in the world.
The team will be known as Team DSV Cyanosis, and has a full calendar of local and international races leading up to the Adventure Racing World Championships in 2020 with the International Venue still to be announced.
Adventure racing is a multi-discipline endurance sport where competitors compete in teams of 4, navigating with only the aid of a topographical map and a compass from check point to checkpoint in a number of disciplines which include mountain biking, trekking, kayaking and rope work (kloofing and absailing). Teams must always consist of a mixed team which comprises of at least one woman between three men in a team. Teams must be able to carry all necessary equipment and nutrition to be self-supporting and operate in harsh remote environments and in all weather conditions where the teams will be travelling through day and night, sometimes not sleeping, in order to reach the finish line. The distances can be anything from 100km to 700kms+, consisting of either single day races up to 8-day non-stop races.

Team DSV Cyanosis team captain, Clinton Mackintosh said the team was proud to race in DSV colours. “We’re an adventure racing team that has stood the test of time by believing in each other and in our collective abilities to achieve a common goal, and this is an approach to life we share with DSV”.
