The Ansilta XK Race in Argentina at the end of this month is going to be one of the biggest races in South America with over 60 teams due to take part and a grand prize of a coveted spot in Raid Patagonia in February next year, which is the first ARWS Qualifier of the year.
The race is the grand finale of the Latin American AR circuit (Circuito Latinamericao De Carreras De Aventura), which has already included 6 races of 24hrs plus this year, taking place in Brasil, Ecuador, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Mexico and Paraguay. Among the top teams taking part are home favourites ‘Ansilta’ and ‘Sportotal’, and the combined Spanish/Argentine team ‘San Juan Aventura 1’ led by Urtzi Ingelsias, ‘Brou Aventura Kailash’ from Brazil and Uruguay Natural US.
The race is the 4th in the XK series this year, and Race Director Alito Luchini has prepared a long course of 336km over 10 stages. This is split into 200km of biking, 106 km of trekking, some of it at high altitude (up to 3500m) and 30km of paddling including white water sections. There is also a 165 km course, and categories for teams of 4 and pairs.
The venue for the race start is Las Leñas, Mendoza, one of the top ski centres of the region and teams will fly into Mendoza airport for transfer. With more than 40 races since 2006 behind them the organising team are super experienced and promise an amazing venue in the middle of the Andes and a course which will be dynamic and fast moving.
It should be a fitting finale for the South American series and you can find out more at https://xkrace.com.ar/cuarta-fecha/ and to follow the race live on their Facebook page at; https://www.facebook.com/xkpage/
