Suunto Navigation Award Up For Grabs at the ’06 SMAC XL ARace

What do you need to do to win? Collect the most controls in the final score-O section in SMAC’s ~ Southern Michigan Adventure Club’s, upcoming XL ARace ~ Saturday July 22. Each member of the winning team will receive a Suunto Jacket that will further be personalized by SMAC to include SMAC graphic, the individuals name and finish position.

The race for the Suunto Navigation Award will be made more challenging this year with the premier of the ‘Vertigo’. Numerous controls can and will be located amidst the correct control. The challenge will be to correctly punch the correct control based on terrain features and map reading. Incorrectly punch the wrong control and your team will have points deducted!

SMAC’s Adventure Races have become well regarded in the AR community for their score-O / Rogaine finishes. Controls can be collected in any order and the number of controls located determines the team’s overall position. Historically only about 10% of the field locates all the controls before the race cut-off.
