Wenger Czech Adventure Race
Preview of the 20th Anniversary Czech Adventure Race 2022
Press Release / 20.07.2022
The Czech Adventure Race, with its 19 years of tradition, is a constant in the calendar of many adventure loving athletes. There are already 20 teams in the start list from 7 European countries looking forward to August 25th when they will meet at the start line.
This year the race is set in a beautiful part of West Bohemia, a country of mineral springs. Competitors will enjoy forested hills, stunning views into green valleys and visit some castle ruins and local places of interest; this country has much to offer.
The essential discipline is as usual MTB - 240 km of riding with two single trails added for downhill lovers and for fun. There is also rock climbing added into one MTB stage. The organizers predict teams will spend similar times walking and running.
The trekking stages in total make 120 km including orienteering, via ferrata and Bolscross. What the hell is Bolscross? This discipline is named after its founder, Mr. Bols (University PE teacher). Every Bolscross is unique;depending on terrain and the local conditions. It is a strenuous outdoor route peppered with obstacles. You can climb and slide steep slopes, boulder smaller rocks, swim or do anything else which the local terrain provides.
One discipline which may be a deciding factor this year is canoe paddling, with two stages totalling 50 km, which may make significant gaps between the teams.
The entry fee is as usual one of the very lowest for a long adventure race, set at 900 EUR per team.
