French On Fire & AROC Rock

John-Michael Flynn in Walpole, Western Australia / 30.04.2005See All Event Posts Follow Event
With the J-Stroke of Matt Dalziel working overtime, the home favourites pegged back the sizeable lead built in the opening mountainbike leg by New Zealand’s team Seagate and French team Les Arcs Quechua, to place themselves in second place overall, behind French team Atout Majeur–Eider, at the half-way point on day one.

The team led by Alina McMaster was brimming with confidence after the fourteen kilometer paddling effort, which took competitors along a magnificent meandering stretch of the Frankland River, before crossing a less-sheltered coastal inlet for the finish of stage Two.

“ Yere well paddling’s always our strength, excited crew member Kris Clauson told SleepMonsters at the completion of stage two.

“Got Matt in the back he’s got the J stroke down pat, that gives us a big advantage I think.
