The Tortoise and the Hare – The Directors Cut

Phil Waters / 10.05.2005See All Event Posts Follow Event
Over the years John has proven himself to be one of the world’s best and these days while playing Mr Mom, he still has the passion and drive to compete on the international stage. Just to have John in the race is valuable from our point of view, it draws other competitors for he is a “wanted man. The question is can he be beaten.

As with most races, be it a Marathon, Iron Man or any event really, you have your elite up front pushing themselves beyond what most competitors could even imagine, the talented weekend warriors, the middle of the packers, and then the Plodders, coming in hours after the race has been won, the crowds gone, presentations are over and sometimes they’ve even started to pack up, and the winner is sitting at home with their feet up reflecting on their day. That’s me, the Tortoise. My kids even joke about it, “are you gonna come last today Dad. (well I hope their joking).
