Patagonia Expedition Race
Patagonia is Starting to Look Gooood ...
José Manuel Jiménez / 09.02.2006

The Chilean team is ready to go and a few other racers have arrived and are waiting for their teams who will be flying in tomorrow. The inauguration ceremony will be held at the city hall on Feb 9th at 8 pm.
Then on Friday 10th at 9am teams will have to try out their equipment and do some technical tests in Rio Seco. Later on at at 7 pm a meeting will be held for all team captains, at which they will be receiving the official route maps and itinerary.
Then on Saturday 11th at 9 pm a bus will take all the competitors to the start line and the race will finally begin on the 12th at 5:30 am. It’s a long, long journey just to get to the start line in this race!
Of one thing I can assure you. This will be a beautiful morning for about 50 of us at PER 2006. If last years race was complicated, this year’s is totally extreme. The trekking stages are much longer, and so are the kayak and bike routes – this will be an exhilarating challenge for all competitors and a true wilderness experience.
