The Last and First Finishers

Team Dap/Mad Scientists (unranked), have completed the final trekking section, having to hike, wade and crawl through one of the densest forests in Patagonia. Although some of the team members weren’t in very good shape they made it all the way to Punta Arenas square.
We have to point out that this team did not go through the route planned by the organization, they took their own route, which took them in front of the other teams by going through lower altitudes and less complex terrain. And they did this without a map …. somewhere along the trek they lost it! Jonathan St. Claire from MAD SCIENTISTS was having some chest difficulties and Michael Graz was also having some problems due to a health condition he has had for a while now.
Team Buff España should be arriving some time tomorrow morning and team Alberta Adventure Racing is behind by about 3-4 hours. Natalia Armijo from Dap Antartica is now wearing her new pink cast, after finding out that she had a fracture on her left ankle.
.... Today at 6:46 Team Buff España arrived at Pc7 after their long trek through the Brunswick Peninsula, Team ALBERTA Adventure Racing was behind by about two hours at the time. Buff’s strength at this point was amazing, this team is so well trained and although this is their first race with Ann Meidinger, it will probably not be their last. She has shown such talent for this kind of event, plus her sense of humor and constant smiles help keep the team morale pretty high, not that the Spaniards don’t have a sense of humor, because these guys will make your stomach hurt in a few minutes. They are a hilarious lot.
