Déjà vu in Kentucky - Team Mighty Dog Wins

It was race day in Kentucky again on Sunday with the second race of the Kentucky Adventure Race Weekend. After a great 12hr race on Saturday it was time for the Kentucky AR Weekend Sprint Race and once again the weather was cooperating with race officials.

Seventeen teams lined up for the start of the race, with some after having raced on Saturday coming back for second time. Of these Team Mighty Dog was once again the favorite to win. In the Solo Male division Sean O’Donnell, after a hectic day of finding parts to repair his bike, had his sights set on destroying the course not his gear.

There were several teams competing in their first adventure race and the race was a perfect fit. With no certifications needed and by containing the course to the Carter Cave State Resort Park teams with no experience felt safe and confident in their abilities to complete the course. And for good reason every team that started the race crossed the finish line. Some teams had Murphy’s Law pay them a visit and various pieces of gear either broke or were forgotten. In a display of what great people racers are, after some quick lending or repairing of gear, every team registered was able to start the race.
