Costa Rica: Between two Continents, Between two Oceans
A Spectacular Backdrop for an Adventure Race
Corey Rosen / 08.04.2006
The first annual Between Two Continents (B2C) in Costa Rica is counting down to the race start. With the help of two veteran adventure racers, Randall Bermudez from the Eco-Challenge Fiji and Sergio Sanchez from the Coastal Challenge, Andres Vargas, the Race Director, has planned an excellent course that is sure to challenge even the most hard-core adventure racers. Andres has kept this course a complete surprise and it will remain so until the official race briefing. What we can tell you is that the course moves through an elevation range of more than 6,000 feet, competitors will be hit by temperature changes from cool mornings of around 12 degrees Celsius (54 Fahrenheit) to 35 C (95 Fahrenheit) or more. The extensive list of disciplines for this race includes trekking, land navigation, kayaking, swimming, rappelling, mountain biking, canyoneering and more. During the competition, the competitors will only receive the map for the leg of the race they are currently in. During the competition, as the race progresses, racers will receive only the map for the leg of the race they are about to embark upon. As maps become available to the competitors, they will be made available to the public for viewing on www.SleepMonsters.us.
