Flash Flood Warnings & Rising Water
At Race Brief, Joy Marr, Course Designer, warned racers not to underestimate the shallower waters and smaller whitewater found in the river segments. Although not as “big� as the New River that EFix veterans are familiar with, the nature of the geology underneath the water demands that racers pay close attention and employ their technical paddling skills to avoid being tipped.
After reports of this morning’s water levels, the decision was made to remove the more technically demanding second segment of the paddle. Flood warnings and rising waters early this afternoon contributed to the decision to remove the first as well. Racers will proceed on their bikes to CP4 where they will begin their ropes work.
