The last biking leg included a brutal climb up to the ridgeline, some tough navigation/route-finding in the fog, some very technical rocky singletrack, and a bikewhack for teams that failed to find the open, rideable tundra approach to CP11 on top of Blackbird Knob. Unfortunately the lead teams’ speedy entry into this leg in the dark and fog denied them the sweeping views of the area.
Official standings will be posted at approximately 17:30 (5:30p) today. All teams have an hour after the official 16:00 Finish time in which to provide any written witness accounts or protests. Credits for Samaritan acts and penalties will also play into the standings.
