The Three Peaks Yacht Race
Back For a Good Cause
Rob Howard / 16.06.2006
The last time Nigel Gould took part in the 3 Peaks Yacht Race he received a message from home saying his 18 month old son had been rushed to hospital. Nigel was put ashore by the Gigha Ferry at Tayinloan on the west coast of Scotland, picked up the support crew, and driven to the hospital where his son had been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. The same team are back again this year and are raising money for diabetes UK, a charity which is the biggest funder of diabetes research in the UK. They also run family support weekends, which the Gould family have been on and benefited from.
(You can find out more and make a donation using the link on the teams profile page.)
