Ford Ranger 3rd at Raid Ukatak
Raid Ukatak is a very extreme race, perhaps the most daring and challenging of all. It\'s a true winter expedition race in Quebec with temperatures down to –25C, including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and ice canoeing.
As the British are so good at these sports the Finns and Canadians trembled when Team Ford Ranger entered! Their unique style of \"walking on skis\" carried them to 3rd place behind Finnish and Polish teams, though only 3 of the 13 starters competed the course, so maybe it was determination that counted most.
You can read Pete James\' account of the race here.
QuestARS off to a Wet Start
QuestARS got off to an early start in 2002, and a very wet and cold race it was – but what can you expect in February! After a torrid time with Foot and Mouth restrictions in 2001, when they tried to launch their series, this was the first full year for the Quest team and this race in Wiltshire was the first of 8 throughout the year. \'Wadenhoe High Five\' also claimed the first of many wins in 2002 by winning the team class.

News to No One
We posted a dozen news stories which no one could read in January and February! Some may have been catching up from events at the end of 2001 but they included the announcement of the British Championships and the new Red Bull Northern Exposure race and the cancellation of the World Championships for 2002. Blue Eskimo were also planning a new Corporate event.
You can read the stories from here.
Next Month...
