The Costa Rica Coast to Coast Challenge Race
Gear check today, race starts tomorrow

Several local teams have had to drop out at the last moment – some simply because they were unable to get a female team member. This seems to be a common problem in a lot of Latin countries. So, all you tough women out there who are looking to travel, get in touch with the race organizers to see about getting hooked up with a local team. You are in demand!
So, we have seven teams at the start line this year. Because the small number of teams makes race logistics a little simpler, race director Mike Lapcevic is going to make the navigation a more challenging – giving simpler and more basic directions to waypoints which will require a bit more problem-solving en route.
The four Costa Rican teams are Aditec ACB, which includes Costa Rica’s top female racer Ligia Madrigal; Mundo Aventura-Thule; BCR-Forza; and last year’s second place team Aventuras de Sarapiquà captained by Alexander “Pongo Baker. Last year’s winning team Pozo Azul is one of the teams who dropped out at the last minute, so unfortunately we won’t see a rematch between Pongo and his rival Chava this year.
