Team Bones (USA) wins the Costa Rica Coast to Coast!

With a flawless performance, Bones becomes the first out-of-country team ever to win this competition.

This team has moved so fast that I have not seen them since two hours into the race. Captain Roy Malone and Jason Quinn have extensive expedition race experience, but for Chris Barry and Louisa Jankins this is their first expedition-length race. Louisa is a former member of the USA national bike team (and has the quads to prove it) and Jason is a doctor – which is always useful in tough terrain like this.

The little news that I have is that they left the Nido del Tigre camp on the raft just after 10am yesterday, and that they paddled in to the finish on an island on the north Atlantic coast at 7:11 this morning.

We also have news that BCR, at the back of the pack, has been transported to the start of the bike section. They and Dark Horse are continuing out of ranking, leaving Thule as the last team still ranked, currently in fourth place.

Stay tuned to SleepMonsters for more details of their race – Jason is going to write an exclusive first-hand report!
