The Costa Rica Coast to Coast Challenge Race
Aditec JCB takes second place

Here, at Caño Palma, as the teams trickle in we are finally all regrouping.
I got here yesterday at about 5:30pm, via a lovely 45 minute boat ride through narrow canals meandering through the jungle – the same canals that the racers are paddling through. Bones had arrived here at 7:00 am, and I assumed that Aditec had also arrived long ago. So I was surprised to see two kayaks by shore as my boat pulled up. I leapt out with my camera, thinking that Sarapiquà had surpassed even their own optimistic expectations, to see that it was actually Aditec (Ligia Madrigal, Marco Gamboa, Juan de RÃos Flores, Róger Rojas).
Marco tried to piggy-back Ligia out from the kayak. From the kayak take-out on the canal, teams had to walk about 200 m across the island to dip their feet into the Caribbean sea in order to truly finish the Coast to Coast. They hobbled across along the trail, carrying Ligia over their shoulders and piggy-backing her to get her across, touched the Atlantic waters, and cracked open the champagne at the banner.
