Dude where\'s my Bruno didn\'t quite have it all there own way but at the end of the day, or rather day and a half the team was where they wanted to be, and that was on the podium in the number 1 spot.

Rapid Ascent’s General Manager Sam Maffett is now nursing a pretty knackered body and some very scratched arms and legs after returning victorious from the 48hr Mountain Designs Geoquest Adventure Race held over the June long weekend.

Sam and his team - consisting Richard Mounstevens, Katrin Van der Speigel and Kris Plain - won the gruelling event in a time of 31hrs and 3 minutes, beating hot favourites APEX (Guy Andrews, Christie Sym, Simon Manson and Hugh Stoddart) by only 32 minutes in what was a very close battle for the race lead between a hot field of 40 teams contesting the event.

This win means that Rapid Ascent staff have now been part of a winning combination for the past 3 years – often claimed as Australia’s Premiere Adventure Race, the team with Rapid Ascent’s Race Director John Jacoby won in 2008 (partnered with Christie Sym, Simon Manson and Hugh Stoddart) and Sam and John also won in 2007 (when partnered with Guy Andrews and Kim Beckinsale).
