Although Tuesday night Denmark Daredevils were the team leader by 10:30am on Wednesday the Danes did not come even to the transition 5 (T5) located at the entrance to the rapids in the Rios Tropicales at Pacuare River. Columbia Spot of Spain was the team who finished the first session, 58 kilometers of trekking to reach this point at 6:21 am. They made the transition and left at 6:34 am to attempt 21 kilometers of rafting on the Pacuare.

The second team through was Thermocool Buff from Spain and Finland, the 2010 world champions, who arrived at this point at 7:55 am. Jukka Pinola was treated for some wounds on his hands. Minutes later at 8:15 they to set off on the rapid stage.

Team Grupo Orosi Costa Rica Spirit seem to hold the third position.

In addition, three teams are already short-coursed. They are Athena Colombia who requested help to get to T4, there they rested and were taken to rafting. The same happened to the Argentine Xtres Toledo with the number 8, who upon arrival at T4 in the Suerre decided to skip the trekking, the other team in the sub category is SXM Saint Martin, reports indicate that at PC 13 in the Turrialba volcano decided to go straight to the rafting.

Team Ara Goals of the United States led by Brent Dreedland, who had serious problems with heat and French team Issy Adventure have retired.

The first teams are close to finishing the 21 miles of rafting route to the T6, an interesting transition because they remain in water for 47 miles of kayaking for an estimated time of 7 hours. This transition will take place at Camp Cosatu Cosatu to Camp Pachira for steers and change back to Mountain Biking with a total of 82 kilometers.
