AR Slovenia – Final report

37 teams from ten different countries (122 competitors), 25 organizers and 45 volunteers, 50 hours. This is a brief statistics of Adventure race Slovenia 2011. The 9th edition of a very well organized adventure race. It might sound self-centred, but that is what the teams said. A statement from 2004 of a Polish journalist, who has been to most of the biggest and important races is still very much alive: »If the fact that you gave me the wrong size T-shirt was the only mistake you've made, it's clear that the organisation of the race was outstanding!««

<strong>Winners</strong>
The winners in the Rover category (215 km) are Sport Nature-Ville-le-grand from France, followed by Intersport/Lete&#269;i nomadi (Slovenia) and Slovenia Biathlon team, Sport unit of Slovenian Armed Forces (Slovenia).<br>
We unfortunately experienced a disk failure, where the results' data was stored. That is why we had to re-enter all the data from the sport ident chips for the last mountain biking section again. Collecting data took a bit longer than we expected, so we didn't have the chance to announce the best team in the Explorer category. This will be done till Wednesday 29th June and the best teams will receive cups and prizes via post. <br>
We hope that this mistake on our side didn't sour impressions of Adventure race Slovenia and that teams will come for beautiful nature and great adventure again next year.

<strong>Cooperation with Slovenian Armed Forces</strong>
This international adventurous project has been supported by Slovenian Armed Forces, which is its golden partner since the very beginning. It offers the organizer support in logistics and next to Velenje Health Centre a support in first aid medical treatments. There are also a few members of Slovenian Armed Forces who have taken part in the race as competitors.
This year brigadier, major, Branimir Furlan, Commander of Slovenian Armed Forces, is a member of the honorary organizing committee. Next to Slovenian Armed Forces there are also fire fighters, divers, cavers, mountain rescuers and other local organisations supporting the race.

2012 – 10th edition Adventure race Slovenia </strong>
Yes, it's going to be 10 years from when we first organized the adventure race on the sunny side of Alps. A lot of sweat ran over the last nine years among the competitors and organizers of this unique event in Slovenia, the country who has just celebrated its 20th anniversary of its independence on 25th June.<br>
The organizers promise that the 10th edition of AR Slovenia will be even more spectacular, even more challenging and even better organized (if that is possible).<br>
The motto still stays the same: Can you do it? Are you sure? Come and try!
