Competitors Successfully Finish the First Day of Costa Rica Adventure Race 2012

-From the beginning of the race in Puntarenas and on their way to San Lucas Island, all of the teams surpassed, with no difficulties, all the obstacles faced.
- Tecnu team of Kyle Peter, Robert Miller, Marco Amselem, and Liza Pye (Brazil, Canada, and the United States), was the first team to arrive in Paquera town, and they are in the first place of the race.
-Regarding Costa Ricans, The North Face team, composed of Rodrigo Carazo
Eduardo Baldioceda, Ligia Madrigal, and Sergio Sánchez was the first Costa Rican quartet to arrive in San Lucas Island, and they are in the fourth place of the race.
-On its part, the Toyota Team of Melida Barbee, Eric Cano, Danny Arguedas, and Andrés Rivera, arrived in the island in second place within the six local teams.
- Checkpoint number 7 is located in Paquera, where competitors are currently trekking from Paquera to Thiel Port –for a distance of about 45 miles (73 km).
-By Monday, at 5:00 p.m., Tecnu team is in the first place, followed by the Brazilians from Selva Kailash, Bones team from the United States in the third place.
It is expected that the first team to arrive in Thiel Port gets there early on Tuesday. Once there, they will change discipline to kayaking to get to Manzanillo, and start the lengthy 86-mile (138 km) Mountain Bike climbing to Guayacán Hotel in Guanacas
