The Mexican team La Costeña Salomón became the first team in abandoning the Costa Rica Adventure Race 2012. All this, after informing the organization that the detrimental physical and mental condition experienced by its members was stronger than their desire to continue in the competition.

“Without a doubt, this is sad news. But this confirms that the Costa Rica Adventure Race 2012 event is an adventure race that makes competitors make their greatest efforts to be able to successfully complete it,” stated the event’s director, Johanna Arguello.

With the retirement from the Mexicans, 16 teams are currently participating in the competition.

Status of the Competition

-At 6:05 a.m., the American team Tecnu, arrived in the checkpoint at the Guayacán Hotel for the mandatory 4-hour rest.

-According to the satellite that indicates the location of competitors, Bones team keeps the second place.

-The struggle for the third place has a Costa Rican touch, because the The North Face team, Grupo Orosi Costa Rica Spirit, and Toyota Team (third, fourth, and fifth places) are competing hardly for the third place.
