Costa Rica Adventure Race 2012
Struggle for the Costa Rica Adventure Race 2012 Focused on 7 teams
News Release / 26.04.2012

This Thursday, the adventure race Costa Rica Adventure Race 2012, started a crucial stage in Hacienda Guachipelín – located on the outskirts of the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano since 7 teams are struggling to shorten distances with their competitors.
By this stage of the competition, the event’s organization made the decision of dividing competitors in two groups, where the first seven teams will compete for becoming the best team. This decision was made because these first seven teams have accrued such a time difference that is impossible for the other teams to reach them.
The first group is composed of the following teams: (The time corresponds to their arrival time in the checkpoint at Guayacán Hotel).
1- Tecnu (United States) 6:05 a.m.
2- Bones (United States) 1:49 p.m.
3- Team Adventure Adiccts BUFF (Spain) 5:49 p.m.
4- Grupo Orosi Costa Rica Spirit (Costa Rica) 6:15 p.m.
5- Selva Kailash (Brazil) 8:43 p.m.
6. Agricenter Caribe (Costa Rica) 2:15 a.m. this Thursday
7- Toyota Team (Costa Rica) 3:27 a.m. this Thursday
On the other hand, the second group of teams will have two options to continue in the competition:
The first option is riding a bike towards Hacienda Guachipelín and doing the entire circuit (Originally, they had to walk to the hacienda).
The second option is leaving the Guayacán Hotel directly to the Sifón stage. (Thus, skipping the circuit at Hacienda Guachipelín).
Tecnu Imposes An Overwhelming Pace
Regarding the race, the American team Tecnu is the strongest candidate to win the race, since they arrived in Hacienda Guachipelín yesterday at 7:30 p.m., and today by 01:13 a.m., they had completed all the activities.
The second place, Bones team, arrived today at 9:43 a.m. and left at 11:13 a.m. It is important to mention that this was the very first time its members did Canopy.
