adidas TERREX Swift
adidas Terrex are the Winners

Shortly after 1am the bobbing bright lights of a jogging adventure racing team appeared at the bottom of Settle High Street and Team adidas Terrex jogged into the finish line of the first adidas TERREX Swift 48 hour adventure race.
After almost two days of racing, in cold weather, wet conditions and without any sleep, the team linked hands for the final few metres to the finish gantry and stopped on the line. There was no running through the finish, or jubilant celebrations – because they had given their all to get there. They had completed a 310km course with almost 9000m of climbing in 40 hours of continuous competition, and were pushed all the way the Team Mountain Hardwear.
The team of Stuart Lynch, Tom Gibbs, Sam Noble and Nick Gracie had overtaken them on the final stage to win one of the hardest fought races of recent years, and were warmly applauded by the gathered marshals and officials. Friends and family were there too, and they’d even bought them some chips ... though they were now cold!
The team couldn’t even open and drink their celebratory champagne, and just wanted to sit down in some camp chairs and then find somewhere warm to sleep! Stuart Lynch said they’d been surprised to catch Mountain Hardwear, and on the final descent from Pen-y-Ghent Tom Gibbs was telling the team he could see lights behind them to try and get them moving more quickly!
In the end they were moving quickly enough, and earned a hard fought victory that sets them up for the longer adidas TERREX Sting in Stirling Expedition race in august.
