Short but definitely a sweet power sleep, especially because sleep is something competitors won’t get enough of in the next days. At 5 a.m. with the music coming from the accordion the first competitors peaked out of their tents, packed some final stuff and at 6 a.m. sat on the bus towards the seaside. According to the weather reports there is a sunny and hot day ahead.
The sea temperatures are already 25 degrees Celsius, which means that swimming will be a pure pleasure, since this will be the only opportunity during the day to cool down a little.
A sunny and idyllic city of Piran greeted the competitors at the coast. On arrival competitors first needed to make sure to bring the equipment to the right place, afterwards they headed for the start. In the middle Tartini square the crowd of competitors and curious passers-by grew bigger. They were first greeted by the deputy mayor of Piran and afterwards the competitors could get every muscle warmed up with the help of Larisa from Kinetic studio.
At 10.15 15 Rover teams opened the start and ran for kayaks, half an hour later a considerably bigger crowd of 24 Explorer teams also began their adventure in the narrow streets of Piran. The course continued a lot wetter for a while.... however still burning hot with temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius.
