More detail:
The fourth edition of the Mars Challenge was possibly the coldest yet, challenging even seasoned competitors.
John Jacoby excelled in the testing conditions, winning the race again - the fourth year in a row - over 15 minutes clear from 2nd place getter Darren Clarke. Jared Kohler who challenged him strongly last year was forced to retire early, still carrying an injury sustained in the Melbourne 24 hour Arrow race.
Jay Wilson put in an impressive paddle leg to come in third passing triathlete Simon Knowles who showed his strength in running and riding to start the paddle only a few minutes behind Jacoby.
