AREC 2013: The First Stage + Special Tasks

It was a long day – the first day of The Adventure Racing European Championships in Poland's Beskid Niski (mountains in the S.E. of the country).
After the opening stage of 40 km of trekking differences between the teams are not so big, but three teams received a penalty for mistakes during the prologue. (See the results below from CP7.)
Temperatures are rather comfortable for the racers (and for the crew of organizers ... we also spend long hours outside). The frost was rather small (-6, -9 degrees below zero).
After the teams reached the beautiful medieval town of Biecz where they had to do two special tasks: descending 60m from the tower of city hall and GPS orienteering. It wasn't big challenge (even mayor of Biecz manage to go down with the rope), but you can believe us, it was spectacular.
Now all the teams are on the bike stage which is quite a long distance. We suppose 135-150 km. It will be cold night as the temperature is dropping down now.
