2nd Madrid to Lisbon Mountain Bike Ride a Great Success

MTBikers from several countries experienced the 2nd Edition of the Madrid-Lisbon mountain bike tour that was run between 8 and 22 June.
Madrid Lisbon MTBike by the challenging route is one of the biggest mountain biking adventures in Europe!
A challenge, a traverse, an adventure. Two countries, two capitals and 15 mountains between the two! 14 days in the mountains and one by the sea!
The second edition was again a great success – riders from England, USA, France, Finland and Portugal where extremely happy and truly satisfied with the route and the organization! This year in Madrid-Lisbon MTBike the youngest rider was 21 years old and the oldest was 60 years old.
The whole tour route between Madrid and Lisbon covers 1230km and climbs almost 28000m in 15 days – this is a unique and fantastic route for mountain biking: following tracks, trails and medieval roads; more than 100km in single tracks; crossing valleys and climbing mountains; passing through historical towns and typical villages!
António Gavinho, the organizer and the man who design this route said “Our aim from the beginning was to design one of the most spectacular and challenging routes of the world – and by the comments of participants from 2012 and 2013 editions I think we are reaching our objectives! We also want to give to all participants a memorable and one life time experience and it’s not enough to be tough and challenging – we want that all participants enjoy and have a great time in this tour. That’s why we take a great care with all details including choosing the best hotels in each place, menus to enjoy a great dinner, incredible picnics every day during stage, and helping riders with mechanic problems or any problem during the all 15 days with us. I’d like also to thank our sponsors for their on-going support in working with us to grow this event.”
