Born Survivor Storms Lowther Castle for Second Year Running
News Release / 04.04.2014

On Saturday the 5th April 2014, Lowther Castle will host the second Born Survivor event, a military inspired obstacle course designed by elite armed forces personnel. The brainchild of an ex-Royal Marines Commando and Falklands veteran, the event will feature over 30, purpose built, obstacles across a 10km course within the Lowther Estate.
Matt Leigh, from Born Survivor, said, “We’re looking forward to an incredible day at Lowther Castle on Saturday. We’ve got over 2,000 people from across the country coming to take on the Born Survivor course and we’ve even attracted some teams of more than 100 people. Born Survivor is a bold twist on a tried-and-tested formula and I’m sure all of those who take part will agree it’s not your average 10km trail or mud run; it’s designed to be very tough with teamwork being an essential ingredient for success. Those who finish will certainly deserve to wear their Born Survivor t-shirts, headbands and dog tags with pride.”
The 10km obstacle course will start and finish in the Born Survivor event village, where festival inspired facilities will be available for both participants and spectators, including: Sponsor and charity exhibitions, sports massage from Cumbria University, music, a licensed beer tent and a range of catering facilities.
Born Survivor is supported by X-BIONIC, 9Bar, Grizzly Active and their official charities are Unique Kidz and The Soldiers Charity.
