After 440 km and 50 hours all the teams have crossed the finish line on time. It's amazing that this year not a single team has dropped out of the race before the finish. Everyone agrees that is has been an amazing race, with stunning views difficult biking sections, unforgettable sunsets and great teams.
The team that was able to pick up most checkpoints and be back within time was this year the Czech team Salomon-Suunto/Opava/Accom. They were in the lead practically throughout the entire race. They are also regulars at Adventure race Slovenia races and have been unbeatable for a few years now.
The second position went to another Czech team Berghaus/Nutrend/Merida. They are also regulars and one team member has visited 11 out of 12 Adventure Races in Slovenia. Third was a new team at the race Latvian Adventure Team adidas.
The race ended on Sunday however the emotions are still alive today. It has been an amazing race, probably for both the teams as well as the organizers. After countless hours of volunteer hard work, worries if everything will be running smoothly, hopes that the teams will cross the finish line with a big smile on their faces, the organizers can say that is has paid off.
It is a true pleasure and reward for everyone working on this race for all these years, when the teams approach us and express their excitements, happiness and gratitude ... it is what keeps the engines running.
We’ve shown you some of the most amazing parts of Slovenia, tried to push your limits a bit higher, hoped to make your stay a memorable one and no doubt met some really great people. Thank you for making this adventure a treat for everyone.
