Tierra Viva
Arverne Outdoor - Ready to Race in Chile
Arverne Outdoor (Translation Anne-Marie Dunhill) / 03.04.2015

Arverne Outdoor is a French adventure racing team and in recent years we’ve raced on the ARWS circuit.
We’ve made two podiums, 3rd in Bimbache (Spain) in 2013 and 3rd at Raid in France in 2014, and these strong performances have allowed us to move up to 14th place in the ARWS world rankings.
Our goal this year is TIERRA VIVA in Chile and this will be our 2nd race outside of Europe (after Expedition Africa on the ARWS circuit in South Africa last year).
The team consists of Stéphane Dumortier, Francis Marleix, David Bardaut and Christine Cornez. We are a team that is beginning to be experienced and comfortable together; everyone has their place and a role in the team.
Chile will be a complete change of scenery and a real adventure, we hope to use our past experiences to get a good result.
What we like about Tierra Viva is that the race is simple with no cut-offs; just start, end and in between a route which each team must manage the best they can. We love the races in which the commitment is total.
Sleep is an important key to this raid because there is no set rest time and our mistakes in Africa last year will be a strong asset and incentive to face this difficulty.
The other key to this race will be the orientation that is advertised as very difficult, but for that we can count on Steph!
We’re flying out next Tuesday and are really looking forward to discovering Patagonia!
You can follow the team on their Facebook page and blog.
[We'll carry news of the race here on SleepMonsters with the help of German Cuevas of AdvFeel Communication, who will be on the course in Chile.]
