UK Challenge Presented By United Airlines Chooses Shelterbox As Official Charity Partner In 2016
Press Release / 06.04.2016

The UK’s Leading Adventure-Filled Team Building Event Takes Place at Dartmoor
UK Challenge Presented by United Airlines, taking place at Dartmoor on 30th June to 3rd July 2016, is pleased to confirm Shelterbox as its Official Charity Partner for 2016.
Organised by IMG, the event has become the leader in the UK corporate team building space, offering teams from a variety of industries to go head-to-head to strategically solve a number of missions in an adrenaline-fuelled weekend. The event will see up to 70 teams, each consisting of six people, work under pressure to solve puzzles and decipher clues. Based at Exeter University in 2016, the teams will have to navigate their way through a variety of tasks testing their teamwork, communication and cognitive skills in a bid to outsmart their rivals. Propelling the teams further is their bid to raise money for charity, linking in with CSR objectives for many of the participating businesses. For 2016, the Official Charity Partner is Shelterbox – an organisation that provides emergency shelter and vital supplies to support communities around the world overwhelmed by disaster and humanitarian crisis.
Andy Knee, Managing Director of Mass Participation Sports, IMG, commented: “We’re extremely pleased to add Shelterbox as the Official Charity Partner of the UK Challenge Presented by United Airlines in 2016. The work they do to support communities across the world affected by humanitarian crises is incredible – we encourage our participating teams to support them by fundraising as much as possible ahead of the event in June.”
Chris Warham, Chief Executive of Shelterbox, added: “We’re incredibly excited to be chosen to be the official charity partner for the 2016 UK Challenge Presented by United Airlines. We see great synergy between what we do as a disaster response charity and what teams will experience tackling this year’s event. It’s also a fantastic opportunity for people and companies to make a meaningful, tangible difference by raising money to provide shelter and aid to families around the world affected by disaster and conflict.”
The 2016 edition of UK Challenge Presented by United Airlines is set to be a competitive event, with teams signed up from Accenture, Youview, UCL, Veolia, Monster (Jobs), PwC, General Mills, Rank Group, CGI and many others.
