From June 9th to 13th, 2016 the XV Red Fox Adventure Race, powered by Polartec®, will be held in Ladoga Karelia, one of the most picturesque places in Russia. The race is organized by the Red Fox company and supported by the Polartec LLC company, producers of high quality functional fabrics. The race promises to be one of the key events in this season's multisport calendar.

Almost 500 participants – the best multisport teams, including the strongest Russian and foreign orienteering athletes, cyclers and adventure seekers – are ready to challenge themselves in the most extreme race in Russia. This 15th anniversary of the XV Red Fox Adventure Race powered by Polartec® promises a challenging distance and exciting new stages in the season of white nights. The race has been held annually since 2003. This year Red Fox Adventure Race will be on the list of AREuroseries races for the fifth time. It means that RFAR results will be included in the total score of AREuroseries competitors. The race gained international status, and this year's competition will be a preparatory stage for the 2017 European Multisport Races Championship!

The location for this year's Red Fox Adventure Race 2016, the Pitkyarantsky District of the Republic of Karelia, is a scenic and severe region. The race center will be based near Koirinoja village, on the North coast of the largest freshwater lake in Europe – Ladoga Lake. It's a unique part of Russia with a remarkable landscape, natural scenery, and distinctive culture. Virgin forests, rough rivers, waterfalls, deep bays, countless skerries and islands, basalt rocks and unforgettable views.

This year's race has changed in format. Athletes will compete in two classes – Short (maximum 25 hours) and Long (maximum 50 hours). Twopersons teams (both men or a man and a woman), as well as four-persons team (including at least one female athlete in a men's team or one male athlete in a women's team) are allowed to take part in the race. Teams have to travel non-stop over an interesting and tight distance.

Designer of the race Vitaly Chegarovsky, Master of Sports in orienteering who has twenty years experience in organizing orienteering competitions will create a route filled with adventure for participants! A dynamic and diverse distance requiring fast transitions between walking, cycling, kayaking, swimming, rope, and coastering is awaiting!

First time participants will need to reach a slackline checkpoint. Rope routes will provide an opportunity to check not only technical skills but also the quality of the team work. The first leg of the course will be obligatory for both classes. After that teams will have an opportunity to find extra checkpoints depending on available time and energy. Thus, this 15th anniversary race will be impressive! See you at the Red Fox Adventure Race XV powered by Polartec®!
