Protective BIKE Four Peaks
More than 600 mountain bikers to compete - Start Tomorrow 9 AM - Leogang

On Wednesday, June 15th, 2016, at 9 AM CET, the fourth edition of the Protective BIKE Four Peaks will kick off in Leogang, Austria. More than 600 participants coming from 23 countries will tackle the four-day stage race through the states of Salzburg and Tyrol which will feature a two-stop strategy for the first time. Saalfelden/Leogang and Kirchberg in Tyrol will host two stages each. In total, 206.50 km and 8,145 metres of climbing have to be mastered by the field.
It will be led by international pros like Karl Platt (GER; Team Bulls) or Uwe Hochenwarter (AUT; Craft-Rocky Mountain-Factory) who therefore are part of the circle of top guns to beat in the battle for the title. In addition, hundreds of MTB amateurs will enter the race, too – including one prominent winter sport athlete. 2015 two-time biathlon world champion Erik Lesser (GER) will line up in Austria for the second time.
The most competitors who are ready to accept the Four Peaks challenge come from Germany (265). Austrians (84), Dutch racers (67) as well as riders from Switzerland (40), Denmark (31) and Belgium (29) are also well-represented. However, athletes from Costa Rica, Columbia and Israel had to travel the most in order to compete this Wednesday.

Since it's inaugural edition back in 2013, the Protective BIKE Four Peaks has become a red-letter day in every mountain biker's calendar. From June 15th till 18th, 2016, four action-packed days in the MTB areas of Saalfelden/Leogang and Kirchberg in Tyrol will provide once again everything mountain bikers could ask for over 206.50 km and 8,146 metres of climbing.
