From trekking across remote lava fields to packrafting the shallows of the upper fork of the Crooked River, a white knuckle traverse to a chossy pedestal, with rounding off the day with another lengthy mountain bike excursion, these endurance athletes begin to feel both the joys and pains of course director and designer, Jason Magness's signature style of expedition racing. While lead teams make their way towards the next couple stages before the finish, middle of the pack teams just begin the packraft section.
